First and most important, watch the direction in which
you move with such an opponent. Crouched will commonly attack
your legs. They are waiting for the right moment to dash
forward and grab one of your legs and I therefore suggest
you avoid moving directly back or forward but keep moving
sideways to your left or right.
Always keep two strong grips on your opponent which will
allow you to keep at a safe distance. Strong grips will
also allow you to keep pushing the crouched player further
down into a more extreme position.
use the sideways motion of your opponent to drop yourself
closer to his foot. At the same time apply a specific hand
action shown in the photogragh to rotate your opponent's
body. Breaking his balance further sideways over the edge
of his foot.
Use your leg to throw your opponent precisely sideways.
The main diference in application of tomoe-nage is in falling,
the direction of Tori's body and the application of forces
during the throw.
Keep a strong grip throughout the throwing to ensure that
Uke lands on his back, which will in most cases reward you
with an ippon score.
